Summer Reading Program 2018 Kick-Off

Friday, 1:30 - 3 p.m.

Join the Harriotte B. Smith Library on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune for fun activities as they kick off the 2018 MCCS Lejeune-New River Summer Reading Program. The theme for the summer is “reading takes you everywhere.” Open to all authorized patrons. For more information, call 451-3026.

Splash Bash

Friday, 7:30 - 10 p.m.

Visit the Tarawa Terrace Pool on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune for a pool party for the whole family. Enjoy the evening swimming, games, and dancing. Bring your own swimsuit and towel. Music, food and drinks will be provided. Open to authorized patrons of all ages. $2 per person. Register at the Tarawa Terrace Pool. Ages two and under are free. For more information, call 449-4309.

Fields of Fun - Special Needs Awareness Day

Saturday, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Join the Jacksonville Commons Recreation Complex on this day to raise awareness of the challenges of those with special needs and to celebrate their resilience. Event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 389-7293.

NABVETS 6th annual Anniversary Banquet

June 23, 6 - 11 p.m.

NABVETS’ Military Women’s Chapter #0088 will host its 6th annual Anniversary Banquet at the Special Moments Event Center in Jacksonville. Tickets are $35.00 per person. For more information, call 934-5067.

Vacation Bible School

June 25-27, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

The Protestant Mainside Chapel on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and the New River Air Station Chapel will host a three-day vacation Bible school adventure. The theme is “shipwrecked.” Children will have the opportunity to make treats and participate in team-building activities. For more information, call 451-3210.

NC Polynesian Festival

July 27-28

Join the Asian-Pacific community of Onslow County at Onslow Pines Park for the annual festival celebrating the Polynesian culture and heritage. Event will feature authentic Polynesian cuisine and dances. Event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 934-2338.
