Chaplain is who she is meant to be
Not many people enjoy going into the hospital for surgery, even if it is for something routine.
For that reason, Lt. j.g. Nashaunna Sanders, staff chaplain at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, often starts her day by visiting patients in the Ambulatory Procedures Unit.
2009 Military Spouse of the Year encourages program participation
While on deployment during 2008, Staff Sgt. Scott Howard, now of Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, nominated his wife Laurie for the 2008 Heroes at Home: Military Spouse Awards.
It was the first year the awards program was held in the local area. As he was still deployed during the May celebration luncheon for all of the nominees and their guests, he was not able to join his wife.
Candy class sweetens up students
A piece of candy can be the sweet tooth’s friend or a dreaded enemy of the waistline. Yet it has remained a piece of culinary history with each drop of chocolate or pinch of sugar that was first combined centuries ago.
A class of approximately 20 people met for the candy school candy-making seminar at the Harriotte B. Smith library recently.
