Sharing knowledge, building bonds: Macedonia participates in Military Exchange Program
Two members of the Macedonian army’s signal corps participated in a military-to-military exchange program June 20 through 26.
The Macedonian communication experts worked with 8th Communications Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force, during Exercise Sledgehammer 3, which gave them a chance to witness the full range of Marine communications capabilities used in field conditions.
NROTC students get once in a lifetime ride
The hot sun beat down upon the students as they sat on the ground, waiting anxiously for the aircraft to land in the field beyond them.
These students belong to the Career Orientation Training for Midshipmen program. Every summer the program brings groups of Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps students from colleges and universities all over the U.S. to Camp Lejeune to conduct Marine Week.
Camp Lejeune Youth Sports Program gets $10,000
Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Community Services’ Youth Sports Program was recently given a $10,000 check by Sodexho, June 25.
“This is for the youth league players, who we want to sponsor and help purchase uniforms and other things they need,” said Todd Fogel, the local district manager for Sodexho. “This is part of an international sponsorship and Camp Lejeune is receiving the largest portion of the pot.”
