 DeBose scores 15 points, but Devil Pups fall 87-44

The 2018-19 Lejeune High School Devil Pups basketball season came to a close on Tuesday evening in the first round of the state playoffs with an 87-44 loss to the Henderson Collegiate Pride Tuesday night in Henderson.

The second-seeded Pride jumped all over the 31st-seeded Devil Pups with a 22-4 run to start the game.

Henderson (27-2) built the lead to 42-22 at halftime and then limited the Devil Pups to just 12 points in the third quarter to lead 75-34.

Jarod DeBose led the Devil Pups with 15 points. Henderson Collegiate junior forward Kalib Mathew scored 22 points for the Pride, which had four players in double figures.

Lejeune finished its season with an 11-14 record, including 6-8 in the Coastal 8 Conference. Lejeune will lose six seniors: Justyn Rollins, Zavier Harvey, Hunter Staines, Kobe Ullrich, Kylen Jones and Aaron Pierce.
