Marines with 2nd Marine Logistics Group competed in a basketball tournament to build unit cohesion on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, March 29.

“The purpose of the basketball tournament is to bring the MLG together and develop some camaraderie through friendly competition,” said 2nd Lt. Matthew Murray, assistant future operations officer with Combat Logistics Regiment 27 (CLR-27). “Ultimately, we want to have fun while getting some good PT in at the same time.”

During the tournament, 10 teams from different units competed in a single elimination process over three days. CLR 27 won the tournament, receiving a trophy and a 72-hour liberty pass.

“The whole tournament was a massive success, with lots of fun and close competition,” Murray said. “It was a great time for the entire group to spend outside of work.”

Combat Logistics Regiment 27 played against Combat Logistics Battalion 8 in the championship and won 77-34.
