Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune (NMCCL) welcomed Onslow County’s first newborn baby of 2020.
Winona Jane Trombley was welcomed into the world at 2:01 a.m. on Jan. 1 by her proud parents, U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Shannon Robertson and her husband, Zachary Trombley, a Marine veteran. Winona Jane weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and measured at 19.7 inches in length. Winona is the first child for the couple from Massachusetts. The parents said they chose the name Winona as it means “firstborn daughter”.
Robertson thanked the NMCCL Labor and Delivery staff for making her stay comfortable. “The nursing staff has been so good to me; they were great and respected everything I wanted,” she said. Robertson, who is stationed at II Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters, explained that the New Year’s Day birth is meaningful to her as it is also the three-year anniversary of meeting her husband.
