A cold, blustery rain greeted golfers during a Coastal 8 Conference match hosted by the Lejeune High School Devil Pups at the Paradise Point Golf Course on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, March 20.

After the match, the Devil Pups sit in second place overall in the conference race after shooting a team score of 376.

Austin Barkhimer had Lejeune’s lowest score of the day, shooting an 88 despite on-and-off rain and cold, windy conditions. Broden Wilhelmsen and Peter Sullivan each shot 94, while Robbie Morgan and Aaron Pierce each shot 100. Owen Stewart rounded out the Lejeune High golfers on the day with a score of 104.

After two league matches this season, Lejeune High sits in second place overall with a score of 822. Croatan is in first place at 759, while Richlands and Dixon are currently tied for third at 899, followed by Southwest Onslow at 912.

The Devil Pups were scheduled for another league match at Rock Creek Country Club on Wednesday, but results were unavailable at press time. Lejeune High’s next match is scheduled for 2 p.m. April 1 at Bear Trail Golf and Country Club in Maple Hill.
