Capt. Miller wins second national title

Four more U.S. Marines will be joining their All-Marine teammates Staff Sgt. John Stefanowicz and Sgt. Raymond Bunker at the 2020 Olympic Trials in April thanks to their performances at the U.S. Senior Nationals that were held in Fort Worth, Texas, Dec. 20-21, 2019.

Capt. Daniel Miller won his second national title by winning the final match of the 97 kg Greco-Roman weight class. Sgt. Xavier Johnson won bronze at 67 kgs, Capt. Peyton Walsh got fourth at 77 kgs and 1st Lt. Jamel Johnson placed fifth at 67 kgs in Fort Worth.

The top-five finishes from the Marines gave them a berth into the 2020 Olympic Trials where they will compete for a shot to make this summer’s Tokyo Olympics.

The Olympic Trials will be held at Pennsylvania State University, April 4-5.
