In accordance with U.S. Naval Regulations, a 21-gun salute will be rendered by Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment at noon Monday at the W.P.T. Hill Field on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in observance of President’s Day.
During the salute, the guns are discharged at five-second intervals 21 times. A brief ceremony will be conducted in front of John A. Lejeune Hall just prior to the 21-gun salute.
The ceremony is open to all authorized personnel and their guests. Parking for the ceremony is available directly behind John A. Lejeune Hall or in the parking lot adjacent to Bldg. 235 (Old Bus Station) on McHugh Boulevard.
Motorists are advised that all vehicular traffic in vicinity of the traffic circle on Mainside will be stopped at 11:45 a.m., and normal traffic patterns will resume at 12:02 p.m. or as soon as the gun salute concludes. Drivers should seek alternate routes or avoid the immediate area during this time.
