Pool-intro to Standup Paddleboarding
Saturday, 6 -7 p.m.
Time to learn about standup paddleboarding. This class is designed to teach the fundamentals of standup paddleboarding at the Area 2 Pool. The lesson will provide an in depth look at the equipment that will be used, learning how to maneuver the board and proper self-rescue techniques. This training will also focus on the necessary skills needed to move on to moving water - these techniques include edging, bracing, and pivoting the board.
Armed Forces Wrestling Championship
Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m and 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Lets get ready to rumble! The Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard wrestling teams battle it out on the mat at the Goettge Memorial Field House. Computer Nitrox Diver
March 7, 6 – 8 p.m.
This course will cover the use of nitrox mixtures from 22 to 40 percent oxygen. This is a non-diving course at the New River Indoor Pool. All equipment and materials will be furnished. Registration ends one week prior to the first day of class. For more information, call 449-4309.
March 12, 4:30 p.m.
Kids ages 6 to 9 can join Outdoor Adventures during the Wildlife Explorers event for an opportunity to explore nature, see critters, their feathery friends and their homey habitats. Participants can dress in their favorite outdoor adventure outfit. Pack water, sun screen, some snacks, and get ready to embark on an adventure through Mother Nature in search of new discoveries. Wildlife Explorers will take place at the Brewster Recreation Area at Camp Lejeune. For more information, call 451-1440.
